Diagnosing Cystic Fibrosis

Currently, every state in the U.S. screens newborns for cystic fibrosis through a genetic test or blood test. Managing cystic fibrosis will be a lifelong endeavor, so having the condition diagnosed at infancy makes it easier for the individual to create a lifestyle that accommodates treatment.

Available Treatment

Our cystic fibrosis centers are some of the best in the state. The Comprehensive Cystic Fibrosis Centers are fully accredited by the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and has been designated by the State of Texas as a referral center for Cystic Fibrosis Newborn Screening. Additionally, our program has been designated as a Therapeutic Development Center by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Therapeutic Development Network.
